Solutions Center representatives (left to right) Wilson Rickerson, Christina Becker-Birck, Devon Gardner and Victoria Healey provided information about Solutions Center services to attendees of the Caribbean Clean Energy Technology Symposium in March 2015.

The Solutions Center participated in a variety of activities at the Caribbean Clean Energy Technology Symposium in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, on 24-27 March.

Victoria Healey, Solutions Center project manager from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, presented an overview of the Solutions Center to an audience of nearly 200 attendees and participated in a panel discussion during the plenary on 25 March. The panel discussed clean energy policy and assistance delivered by the Solutions Center across the Caribbean region. Discussions also covered a new collaboration between the Solutions Center and the Inter-American Development Bank—a partnership designed to leverage resources and expertise to expand support to Caribbean nations in their efforts to deploy clean energy technologies.

In addition, the Solutions Center reached a large number of Caribbean energy policy makers through an information exhibit at the event.

The Caribbean Clean Energy Technology Symposium was hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy, Caribbean-Central American Action and the Government of the U.S. Virgin Islands, in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank and Institute of the Americas. This event was delivered under the framework of U.S. Vice President Biden’s Caribbean Energy Security Initiative.
