New Policy Database for India

18 April 2013

IREEED Announcement
India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) are pleased to announce the release of the Indian Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Policy Database (IREEED) for policies, regulations, and incentives.

India’s union and state governments have established a policy environment to support investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies throughout the country. In order to disseminate the renewable energy and energy efficiency policies, regulations, and incentive programs for the benefit of project developers, businesses, and consumers, MNRE and the DOE collaborated under the U.S.-India Energy Dialogue and the Clean Energy Ministerial to develop an online database that provides succinct summaries in a clear and simple format.

The beta version of ireeed.gov.in was released on April 18th. MNRE and DOE enthusiastically welcome feedback on how to improve the website, and they will be making revisions through September 2013, when the entire site will be launched. Please submit questions, comments, or other feedback to IREEED@NREL.gov.
