From joint webinars and global renewable energy trends research to cross promotion and Advisory Board membership, the Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21) has proven to be an active and valuable partner for the Clean Energy Solutions Center.

“REN21 demonstrates its value as a Solutions Center partner in many ways,” said Ron Benioff, Manager of Multilateral Programs for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the operating agent for the Clean Energy Solutions Center. “We are extremely grateful to REN21 Executive Secretary Christine Lins for her leadership on our Advisory Board, for close cooperation on renewable energy policy studies and awareness, and to REN21’s outreach to its vast membership on behalf of the Solutions Center.”

In partnership with REN21, the Solutions Center recently completed a month-long webinar series on REN21’s Renewables Global Status Report (GSR) 2014. First released in 2005, the GSR provides a comprehensive overview of renewable energy market, industry, investment and policy developments worldwide and serves as the most frequently referenced report on renewable energy business and policy. The webinars examined different geographical regions (Australia/Oceania, Latin and South America, Africa, China, Southeast Asia, India, Middle East and North Africa, North America, and Europe) and the changes in renewable policies and technologies they experienced during 2013.

REN21 shares Solutions Center news and other unique content with REN21 members via social networking, joint presentations and events at conferences, and other communications avenues, helping to extend the reach of the Solutions Center. REN21 also advises the Solutions Center on its strategic direction.

REN21 is a global renewable energy policy multi-stakeholder network that connects a wide range of key participants such as governments, international organizations and industry associations to facilitate knowledge exchange, policy development and joint action towards a rapid global transition to renewable energy. REN21 promotes renewable energy to meet the needs of both industrialized and developing countries that are driven by climate change, energy security, development and poverty alleviation.
