The Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy has invited bids from prospective project developers to set up a hybrid solar power project that will have a total installed capacity of 400 megawatts and will include systems based on solar photovoltaic as well as solar thermal power generation technology.

Today, the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) launched a global program to recognize organizations using an ISO 50001-certified energy management system to save energy and reduce costs. The CEM Energy Management Leadership Awards will raise global awareness of the benefits of energy management, helping accelerate broad implementation of these proven systems to help meet organizational, national and global energy and climate goals.

During the Paris climate conference, six green banks and two nonprofit organizations jointly announced the opening of the Green Bank Network on 7 December. The network will accelerate clean energy installations and mobilize private investments worldwide.

To meet India's goal of rapidly ramping up the country's solar power over the next decade, companies such as Selco have the difficult job of trying to convince families that only live on a few dollars a day to invest in small-scale solar systems. "The idea behind Selco, and other companies like it, is to create a business model that will help some of the 1.2 billion people in the world who don’t have electricity to leapfrog the coal-dependent grid straight to renewable energy sources."

The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) on 9 November announced its successful achievement of the initial financing and insurance goals pledged to support President Obama’s Power Africa initiative. Power Africa, launched in June 2013, is a partnership of more than 100 public and private sector partners to bring new power access to the more than 600 million Sub-Saharan Africans that live without electricity. As a key part of this initiative, OPIC pledged to provide $1.5 billion in financing and insurance to private sector energy developers to create new energy solutions across sub-Saharan Africa.

On 8 December through 12 December 2015, the Clean Energy Solutions Center provided an energy efficiency assessment and audit capacity building workshop in Praia, Cabo Verde. A total of 31 participants from the public and private sector included representatives from all 15 West African countries.
