At the request of the Secretaría de Energía de México (SENER), the Clean Energy Solutions Center conducted a workshop for Mexican government officials on the development of a policy database for the country. The effort involved officials from six agencies and at least five states. Drawing on NREL experience with both the U.S. Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE) and the India Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Policy Database (IREED), the workshop provided guidance on project development, policy information, and IT and database design. For the ongoing database project, SENER will develop and maintain the database and collect policy information, while the Solutions Center will provide technical guidance and review during development.
