Sustainability Project Manager
Miguel is a creative sustainability consultant and licensed professional mechanical engineer, born and raised in Venezuela, and a Caribbean resident for the past decade. His technical skills include systems thinking, mechanical engineering design, building energy codes, energy modeling, problem resolution, training and facilitating, energy audits and project management.
He dedicated the first years of his energy career to oil exploration, later moving on to helping customers have better access to energy and water by implementing energy and water projects, policies, education and financing strategies.
His work has covered the different tiers of energy customers, from directly assisting rural utility customers lower their energy and water bills, small businesses reduce their air conditioning energy consumption, local governments reduce the overall energy demand, electric utilities deploy energy services businesses and the Caribbean countries improve access to electricity and become more resilient to climate change.
Miguel’s current focus is the coordination of Caribbean regional efforts to improve building energy performance by implementing standards, processes, and procedures.
