Based in Sofia, Bulgaria Mr. Ivan Gerginov is a senior international energy efficiency and renewable energy financing expert and a senior investment and fund manager who has been involved in the clean energy sector since 2002. From 2004 to 2008, he served as the first Executive Director of the Bulgarian Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Fund (BgEEF), where he was responsible for the development, marketing, development and day-to-day operation of the fund. This included high-level liaison with government officials, ministries as well as various stakeholders, including local financing institutions and municipalities. Mr. Gerginov was instrumental in the early and strong positioning of the BgEEF as a key player for energy efficiency and renewable energy financing in the Bulgarian market. Since that time, the fund has been lauded by a wide range of international institutions, including the World Bank, as one of the most successful dedicated financial mechanisms for energy efficiency and renewable energy in Central and Eastern Europe.

Since joining Econoler in 2009, Mr.Gerginov has been involved in the design and implementation of over 20 clean energy financing mechanisms in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia, as well as in some high-level efforts to develop energy efficiency in various countries. Mr. Gerginov is considered one of the most experienced energy efficiency financing experts in Europe and internationally.
