James Hazelton is a renewable energy engineer and energy expert with 11 years’ experience working on Australian and international energy projects. He holds a Bachelors of Engineering (Renewable Energy) and completed his PhD in Engineering at the UNSW, where his dissertation provided extensive analysis and technical, commercial and policy recommendations for three international hybrid mini-grid programs targeting rural electrification in the Asia Pacific region.

His capabilities and experience set include hybrid mini-grids (PV/diesel/battery) systems and wind energy systems, implementation and operation of development projects in complex environments, energy access planning, rural electrification policy, sustainable development, monitoring and evaluation of renewable energy technologies, distributed energy resources as well as utility operations and training.
