Joe has more than 23 years’ experience working on energy sector issues. His work has involved energy market reforms, R&D, commercialisation, deployment, economics, government programs as well as policy analysis and development. He has extensive experience in renewable generation and isolated mini-grids as well as Government policy and programs. Joe has worked in Australia, New Zealand, India and several Pacific Island Countries.

Prior to his role as Projects Manager for ITP, he was a key member of the Australian Government’s Renewable Energy Team. He was responsible for the design and delivery of the Remote Power and the Advanced Electricity Storage Technologies programs. He contributed to the design of Australia’s Mandatory Renewable Energy Target, the implementation of the Renewable Energy Commercialisation Program, Renewable Energy Equity Fund and the Renewable Energy Development Initiative. Joe has a Post Graduate Diploma in Energy Studies from Murdoch University and an Engineering degree from the University of Western Australia. He lives in Canberra.
