Paul Burke

Paul Burke is an Associate Professor at the Australian National University’s Crawford School of Public Policy. Paul’s research focuses on energy, the environment, transport and the economies of the Asia-Pacific. He has carried out projects on electricity subsidy reforms in Indonesia and on policy mechanisms for uptake of zero-carbon energy. He has been a lead contributor to discussions on energy and climate policy, and he has published in journals including American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, Economic Inquiry, Nature Geoscience, Nature Climate Change, and Global Environmental Change. Paul is a key team member of the ANU Grand Challenge research program Zero-Carbon Energy for the Asia-Pacific. He co-leads research on economic policy frameworks under the Australian-German Energy Transition Hub. Paul holds a PhD in Economics from the ANU and a Bachelor in Agricultural Economics (Honours I) from the University of Sydney.
