Regional Program Manager, ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability
Ranell brings with him nine years of professional experience in development work, six years of which is focused on climate change. At present, he serves as the Regional Program Manager of ICLEI Southeast Asia. He serves as the organization’s deputy and is involved in all aspects of project management and implementation. He provides direction and oversees the implementation of various climate change mitigation and urban sustainability projects including the management of Asia LEDS Partnership Secretariat, Compact of Mayors, and Earth Hour City Challenge. He has led the conduct of numerous trainings on greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory for local governments in Malaysia and the Philippines. He received professional training on GHG inventory from ICLEI and Greenhouse Gas Management Institute (GHGMI). He recently co-authored a case study about Bogor City, Indonesia’s low carbon development with support from the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN).
