Sam Booth has broad experience in project development and renewable energy finance. He helps analyze, develop and build clean energy projects with governments, federal agencies and corporations. He has worked on numerous international projects, including the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s $600-million Green Prosperity Compact in Indonesia, power section reconstruction in Haiti and isolated grid renewable energy projects in Brazil. Domestically, he helps federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Defense access financing options (including performance contracts and power purchase agreements), develop financial models of projects to evaluate investments, secure financing and evaluate proposals. Prior to joining NREL, Booth worked in energy/aerospace research and development engineering. He has BS degrees from the University of Colorado in Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering and an MBA from Boston University.
