The Clean Energy Solutions Center, in partnership with the Energy Access Practitioner Network, offered this webinar on off-grid energy storage. The webinar provides a comprehensive overview of technical innovations and discuss challenges on the ground. The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), an Energy Access Practitioner Network member, presents its new position paper on off-grid storage, followed by presentations of three specific case studies:
- Sunna Design’s work in the Syrian refugee camp Zaatari
- Fundación Acciona Microenergía’s “Luz en Casa” (”Light at Home”) project in Peru
- Trojan Battery Company’s Spice Village Resort in India.
The three case studies showcase a robust geographical and project diversity, with technologies ranging from off-grid PV LED street lights to individual systems to minigrids, and allow participants to learn more about the advantages and disadvantages of the various batteries used in these contexts.
Panelists
