Net Metering and Interconnection

Net metering is a credit received by a system owner from a utility on its energy bill for the energy outflows of its system. The time basis on which the net metering is calculated can impact the value of this incentive, as will the amount of the net metering per kilowatt-hour as compared to the amount paid, and the time in which the energy is generated if energy costs differ by time of use.

Interconnection policies allow renewable energy system owners to connect their systems to the grid.
