Presentation—Fabrice Poulin: Off-grid Solar Market Potential and Deployment in Africa

TranscriptWebinar audio transcript

The Clean Energy Solutions Center, in partnership with Enerdata and Infinergia, hosted this webinar on the Africa solar market.

Leveraging desk research and insight from the field, Enerdata, along with its partner Infinergia, gave an overview of the solar market in Africa. On the grid side, the webinar focused on electricity production and the share of solar generation, grid PV installed capacities, main operational plants, grid PV forecasts and market challenges and opportunities. On the off-grid side, presenters analyzed population and electrification issues, installed capacities by region, the Macro-economic Off-Grid (MOG) model and Africa’s country rating and forecast to 2020 of cumulative installed capacities by country.

The following resources were used to produce the analysis:

Presentations were followed by an interactive question and answer session with the audience.
