Following the November 2018 release of the CCUS action plan, the UK is poised to play a leading role in supporting the development of CCUS—one of the most promising clean energy technologies of the future. Recognizing CCUS as having the ability to deliver tangible results in tackling some of the biggest challenges associated with decarbonizing the economy, contributing to industrial competitiveness, and generating new economic opportunities, the UK has outlined their vision to become a global leader in the CCUS space via the recently published action plan. This vision was reinforced at the November 2018 International CCUS Summit in Edinburgh, UK, where global energy leaders convened to drive new momentum in CCUS technologies as a proven and critically important climate solution. The summit underscored the importance of a scaled-up investment in CCUS, in addition to clear policy direction, to achieve global climate and energy goals. Panelists in this webinar detailed these recent developments and discussed the future landscape for CCUS in the UK and around the world.
