Climate Action in Asian and Pacific Countries: The Implications of NDCs and the Role of Carbon Pricing for the Energy Sector (Webinar)

6 June 2018

The Clean Energy Solutions Center, in partnership with the Enerdata, hosted this webinar titled, Climate Action in Asian and Pacific Countries: The Implications of NDCs and the Role of Carbon Pricing for the Energy Sector.

By 2030, Asian and Pacific countries may account for more than half of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Consequently, evaluating the implications of nationally determined contributions and the role of carbon pricing in the Asia-Pacific region will be essential to helping prevent climate change. This webinar addressed these topics and presented the results of an exclusive study leveraging the Enerdata EVALUATE model. During the webinar, Enerdata experts discussed these questions:

  • What will be the 2030 levels of energy related GHG emissions in the region?
  • What will NDCs imply for Asian and Pacific countries in terms of mitigation effort and associated costs?
  • What are the expected impacts, depending on the carbon pricing policies implemented (sectoral regulations, domestic ETS and linking between national carbon markets), on GHG emissions levels and on the costs of policies?

Cyril Cassisa of Enerdata presented the webinar. The presentation was followed by an interactive question and answer session with the audience.
