The International Energy Agency’s (IEA’s) Technical Collaboration Programmes (TCPs), formerly known as Implementing Agreements, help IEA enable results-orientated multi-lateral cooperation. IEA’s new report, Technology Collaboration Programmes: Highlights and outcomes is a collection of the significant recent outcomes of the 39 TCPs operating today. To date, over 6,000 experts representing nearly 300 organizations in 51 countries have participated in TCPs. Learn more.

Governments and private sector corporations have committed to work together to scale up renewable energy under a new campaign—the Corporate Sourcing of Renewables Campaign—that will build partnerships to increase the number of companies committed to sourcing renewable energy for their operations. Initiative partners include the International Renewable Energy Agency, Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance, RE100, World Business Council for Sustainable Development and the World Resources Institute. More than 8.1 million people worldwide are now employed by the renewable energy industry—a five per cent increase from last year–according to a report released today by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) at its 11th Council meeting. The report, Renewable Energy and Jobs: Annual Review 2016, also provides a global estimate of the number of jobs supported by large hydropower, with a conservative estimate of an additional 1.3 million direct jobs worldwide. Thirty-five businesses in 20 countries have been selected for global recognition as part of the inaugural Energy Management Leadership Awards program sponsored by the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM). On June 2, 2016, three companies will receive top honors, the Award of Excellence in Energy Management, at the annual CEM meeting in San Francisco, California. Another 32 companies will receive Energy Management Insight Awards for helping build global insight on the benefits of energy management systems in industrial and commercial facilities. Learn more.
