Auctioning Renewable Energy Projects: Lessons Learned from Auction Design for Renewable Electricity (Leonardo ENERGY) (Webinar)

7 October 2015

An increasing number of countries world-wide are using auctions to procure renewable energy sources in the electricity sector. More than 60 countries had held renewable energy auctions as of early 2015. The webinar explains crucial design features and the important lessons learned from various jurisdictions around the world. The webinar highlights potential combinations of auctions with other support mechanisms. For instance, feed-in tariffs can be applied for smaller-scale projects and renewable energy auctions can trigger investment in larger-scale projects. The webinar speaker is Finance Center expert David Jacobs.
