A new pilot project will use cool surfaces and other energy-efficient technologies in low-income housing in Jasdan, India, to help cool homes and lower residents’ energy bills. The Cool Roofs and Pavements Working Group is supporting the pilot project in collaboration with the local nonprofit Sustainable Urban Climate Change & Energy Efficiency Development. Learn more.

A new report by the Clean Energy Ministerial’s Electric Vehicles Initiative shows the substantial impact that electric vehicle deployment would have on India’s oil consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. Assessing and Accelerating Vehicle Deployment in India finds that the benefits of electric vehicles in India are greater than expected when real-world driving conditions are considered. Learn more.

The Solutions Center and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) have formalized a collaboration that will help accelerate the global deployment of renewable energy. The jointly-led Renewable Energy Policy Advice Network (REPAN) will leverage both organizations’ resources by coordinating a global network of experts and practitioners to help countries design and implement renewable energy policies and programs.
